Winingham Farm Home and Cottage is located on the banks of Red River just 1 mile from Orlinda Tn and 8.7 mile from I65 on scenic Hwy 52. This short drive from I65 takes you through some of Tennessee's most scenic farm land and historical sites of rural Tennessee. You pass 1000 acre farms, rolling hills, tons of old red barns and historic homes on your way to Orlinda, a community established some 200 years ago. As your turn left at the 4 way stop in Orlinda you are 4 tenths of a mile to a small paved road on the left that takes you to paradise. Less than 1 mile the first sign you are here is the amazing working wind mill spinning in the almost constant breeze generated by the valley where the Red River runs. This home is a treasure. Antiques and many personal items precious to Debbie and Dan. Wood work salvaged from historic homes will have you amazed.
You will most likely be greeted by Debbie and or Dan Green, owners of the Historic Thomas Drugs in Crossplains Tn. where you get perscriptions and from the old soda fountain, the best malts, shakes in the world. There is so much history to be gleaned from the Dan and Debbie that you will not want them to leave. They are sure to make you feel at home and part of the farm. Canoeing the Red River is possible, make arrangements ahead of time. Walking the farm, fishing the river and perhaps spot some beaver, turkey, deer and other wildlife walking the banks and fields of this magical place. If you want to visit Nashville it is 40 minutes, Bowling Green Ky. is 30 minutes. Mammoth Cave, the largest cave system in the world, is 40 minutes North. Restaurants, shopping all within 15-20 minutes North and South of Winingham Farm.
Nightly rate is $159.00 and sleeps up to 6. If you have more and want to throw down some sleeping bags just ask that might be ok but you need to ask first.
